My review
Hard times make you go into the world of crimes…
Daniel Maple is an actor who once was in a soap opera. But now he is having some financial struggles as finding a new job is harder than expected.
So when he meets someone in a nightclub and makes him an offer which will gain him a lot of money, Daniel finds it hard to refuse.
But getting into the criminal world cannot go without repercussions, and what will Daniel do when there is someone out there after him, without an obvious reason?
Initially I had some struggles reading this book. It’s divided in three separate stories, and in first instance I couldn’t see the link between them.
But the further the story evolved, the clarity came.
I understood Daniel’s struggles, yet I found it difficult to understand to just agree to do something criminal. And this from a person he barely knew.
Of course, if he just refused, we would not have this book! 😁
This story was not easy to put away, as I just wanted to know how it would reach its climax, and how it would all end.
There were moments that gave me the chills, as it was obvious that good guys aren’t always good guys and that the bad guys aren’t always bad. Life isn’t just black and white.
There is also some dark humour in it, making it easier to digest everything that is going on. And that is exactly what this book needed, otherwise it wouldn’t be something I just needed to read on.
On a more personal note, the one thing that bothered me was the misspelling of my name. I was so happy that my name was FINALLY used in a book, to only get frustrated by the double ‘z’! Just kidding of course, but for me it was that extra that made me like it even more!
