My review
It took him a while, but now Russell Stewart has his life back on track. He now has found the balance between being a hockey player, being a student, and being a single dad. Because yes, Jude is the light of his eyes, especially since Jude’s mother left them both. And Russell won’t let anyone distract him from being the best dad for his little girl.
Not even Sabrina, who is funny, brilliant, a kind heart and an unexplainable love for musical and is oblivious to the magnificent world of Marvel…
But no matter how hard Russell finds it to protect his heart from Sabrina, it’s not only himself he needs to protect.. Because his Number One Priority will always be his little girl…
As you can see above, I gave already a warning for exploding ovaries. But this story should have plenty more warnings: lack of sleep, total isolation, swooning all the time, and a little girl that will steal your heart!
This story can be perfectly read as a standalone, even if it’s the second part of a series. But why would you only read this one???
Once you have read one story of this author, you will find yourself longing to read all her other books, and when a new book is out, you will reschedule all your previous plans, just so that you can read, read, read and read her amazing book!
I have to say, I thought that my heart was totally lost to Linc and Cleo’s story (part one of the series). And I thought that those five (so earned) starts would be impossible to give also to Russell and Sabrina.
But after finishing the book (waaaaay too quickly) I realized that Lasairiona’s books are like children… it’s not because there is a new one on its way, you’ll love the first one lesser. But you’ll find your heart will just expand and you will love all the stories with the same great amount.
Russell’s life hasn’t been easy… Being a single – dad at a young age isn’t easy (although, it isn’t easy at any age I think) but my ovaries just exploded each time that he proofs how amazing he is and how he interacts with Jude.
He can luckily also count on his mother, but all he wants is to be the best dad he can be for Jude. So yes, I understood why he kept his distance with Sabrina, but GODDAMN (sorry…) I wanted to kick him in a very delicate place because of how stupid he was being several times!
Because it’s so so so obvious how perfect Sabrina is! Not only isn’t she scared away when she realizes that Russell is a dad, but she starts to care about Jude too. And even if Russell’s mom isn’t being the most welcoming person initially, she won’t get scared away!
But I have to ask , my dearest Lasairiona, did you really have to give Sabrina so terrible parents? Sabrina is the kindest character you can imagine, and her good nature makes her an easy target to take advantage of, but having parents doing that???
Of course, Russell and Sabrina don’t take the easiest road for being together, but we see how important they are for each other, even if they don’t want to admit it.
I found this again a wonderful, amazing story to read, with steamy moments ( whether or not interrupted), but also filled with sweet, funny/hilarious moments, about two people that are very different from each other, but find each other.
This was a story not only about hot and kind people falling in love, but about lovely characters also afraid of falling in love. But when the right person appears, you can fight with all your might, but you will find it impossible to not open your heart.
And with the right person, it’s definitely worth the risk of trusting and loving again…
