‘An Implacable Woman’ – written by K.T. Findlay #BookReview @ktfindlay @rararesources

When law and law enforcers cannot bring justice, who you gonna call?

Synopsis

If a tooth costs a tooth and an eye costs an eye

When a man hits his wife, then it’s his turn to die

Furious that the courts and police can’t prevent respected surgeon John Kirby from beating his wife, Sally Mellors steps in to save her. Permanently…

But Grace Kirby isn’t the only one who needs saving and Sally quickly discovers she’s taken on a much bigger job than she’d thought.

With her unique ability to blend justice with fun, Sally sets joyfully about the business of removing the monsters from women’s lives, but is she in danger of becoming a monster herself?

As her friends in the police get ever closer, Sally has some serious questions of her own to answer.

My review

If there is one thing Sally Mellors cannot stand, it’s injustice. So when she realizes John Kirby is abusing his wife, she wants to take justice in her own hands.

But Grace Kirby is not the only woman suffering on the hands of a man, and Sally quickly has more to do than just taking vengeance on 1 man.

While fighting for a right cause, she has to stay out of the hands of the police. And that ‘ay be harder than she thought, as some of her friends are in the police. And also, is she becoming dangerous herself, as she is enjoying a bit too much taking care of monsters?

Too often we read something in the newspapers or see on the television about a woman being a victim of her husband. And every time this happens, we hope the victims are being protected by the law. But sometimes the abusers slip through the mesh and surviving victims are once again fearing for their lives.

This story shows us an alternative, at the moment the victims have no more hope. Of course taking justice in your own hands is not a solution. But imagining someone doing so, is surely fun to read about!

Sally is the anti – heroine in this book. When abused women are standing alone, she steps up, taking revenge on the husbands.

It’s not only just killing them, but killing them in a way reflecting the way they abused their wives.

It’s a dark book, talking about a serious theme. It could have become a book hard to digest, but thanks the dark humour in it, it makes it somehow a lighter story.

It was kind of fun reading how Sally and her accomplice are minutiously planning their act of vengeance.

And the way the police is always was one step behind her, was sometimes hilarious.

Of course I don’t agree with taking justice in your own hands, but I see what is Sally’s motive. And in a way, I was cheering for her, to be successful. And I know I was not the only one, as some persons of the police, are thinking the same way…

The conflicting feelings, the feeling of injustice, but also the bond that is created throughout the story, makes this one heck of an interesting, intruiging book!

‘A Good Demon Is Hard To Find’ – written by Kate Moseman #BookReview @KateMoseman @rararesources

Not all demons are pure evil!

Synopsis

Sometimes, a date from hell is just what you need…

When Erin thoughtlessly lays a curse on Mark, her cheating ex-husband, she doesn’t expect a well-dressed Great Earl of Hell to show up in her kitchen to fulfill the curse (and make damn good coffee while he’s at it).

Andromalius specializes in wickedness and revenge. He’s ready, willing, and able to rain down hell on Erin’s ex—but when Mark announces a hasty new marriage, Erin needs more than just revenge.

She needs a date to the wedding.

Fans of Good Omens, Lucifer, and The Good Place will love this wickedly funny paranormal romantic comedy!

My review

Erin’s husband cheated on her and now they are divorced. When Mark (the ex) makes the world move around him, Erin involuntarily curses him.
Little did she know that a demon would appear to help her with her vengeance.
Andromalius (luckily for us shortened to Andy) is an expert in wickedness and revenge and does whatever is in his power to get Erin what she wants.

I had so much fun reading this book!
How often I cursed someone, without actually having a demon appearing out of the blue.
So when it happened it Erin, my mind went in overdrive with imagining all the things that could happen to Mark!
But of course, f it would be only about vengeance, half of the fun of reading this story would disappear…
It’s not always about getting your revenge, but thinking about the things you COULD do, is as good!

While Andy is making his list of possible acts, we get to know him better. And if all demons were like Andy, well I wouldn’t mind to summon a demon myself!
Despite his ‘job’, he is a caring demon, wants to make Erin happy. And yes initially by using his powers to embarrass Mark. But when he realizes Erin needs more, he helps her in every way he can.

When Erin’s friend Raya appears to be a witch and vanquishes Andy, Erin does want him back. Because he was the only ‘person’ who cared about what SHE wanted. and let’s be honest, demon or person, don’t we all want someone who cares about us and want to make us happy?

I had several good laughs while I was reading it, but I was also truly concerned when Andy was just POOF gone. And when Raya the Witch and Phoenix the Demon appear in the story, it made me enjoy this book even more!

It’s an easy read, to enjoy on a nice afternoon. A small warning, don’t overthink it too much, as of course there are some things that are not really possible, right? Or are they? Just sit back, read it, have a laugh and enjoy the sweeter moments between Erin and Andy!

‘Celeste Three Is Missing’ – written by Chris Calder #Content @CalderAuthor @rararesources

This time I’m going to get you interested by posting a tiny content of this book!

Synopsis

The world’s first earth-orbit passenger plane, the sensational Celeste Three, takes off from its base in Arizona, also the only place where it is designed land. On a routine flight the craft disappears.

On board is Viktor Karenkov, billionaire oil magnate who has used his wealth to evade prosecution for a murder he committed years earlier. Gregory Topozian, the murdered man’s friend, has been waiting for a chance to bring Karenkov to justice. With dogged determination and considerable ingenuity, he conceives an audacious plan.

Getting the craft down in total secrecy is key. And someone has to pay the huge costs involved.

Content

Current timeline. Greg Topozian and his deputy Jack Smith take the Celeste pilot John Sturgess to view the proposed landing site for Celeste on a Greek island. The space plane had been designed to land only at its base in Arizona.

When dealing with the Americans, Gregory had maintained the pretence of being Greg Todd. Now he and Smith were in Xanthos on a hot afternoon with John Sturgess, who was seeing the island for the first time. He was not happy.

“You guys are nuts,” he fumed. “Freaking, off-the-wall crazy.”

The island was not a comfortable place to be at mid-day in summer and Sturgess was hot, sweating and plainly upset. A few minutes earlier the Robinson helicopter had descended in a graceful, sweeping arc before setting down gently on the helipad. The three men had emerged into the shimmering, eye-watering heat and walked the short distance to the top of the road.

Gregory was concerned that the helicopter pilot might be within earshot. He moved close to Sturgess and whispered, “Careful, John,” nodding towards the pilot. “We need to keep it down, don’t want him getting curious.”

Sturgess lowered his voice. “OK, OK.” He put his hand out, pointing down the road.

“Look at it, Greg. It’s a freaking switchback. I’d have problems putting a Cessna down, no way the Celeste’s gonna make it.”

Jack Smith nodded to Gregory and went back to the helicopter. He spoke to the pilot and led him towards the house.

Gregory took off his sunglasses and wiped his brow with a handkerchief.

“The road’s going to be levelled. It’ll be fine, don’t worry.”

“Don’t worry? Don’t worry?” Sturgess spread his hands. “You got no freaking idea what’s involved. I’m telling you, this is impossible.

“For any other pilot, yes. But for the original Celeste test pilot, no. Difficult, maybe, but not impossible. Not for you, John.”

Sturgess kicked at the tarmac. “God dammit, you’re not listening. That plane lands at a hundred and twenty miles an hour. What you gonna do, put up a tennis net to stop her?”

They were walking slowly down the road, away from the house. Gregory took a baseball cap out of his jacket and pulled it onto his head.

“We have a deal, John. We offered you two million. You pushed us to four, plus our guarantee that nobody will get hurt. So far we’ve kept our word and you got one million up

front. You kept your word getting Bonner to let you fly one more time. We’ve done our homework and we know that you can do this. Everything you say is true, except the bit about it being impossible.”

Sturgess stopped, stared down the road and shook his head slowly. He had calmed down. “It would take a miracle.”

“Just tell us what you need to make it possible.”

Sturgess looked around. “Lemme think about it.”

“Come into the house. It’s air conditioned and there’s cold beer in the fridge.”

‘JoJo’s French Escape’ – written by Lorraine Wilson #BookReview @Romanceminx @rararesources

Is JoJo ready to open her heart again?

Synopsis

‘She had me at Bonjour! Warm, funny, deliciously French…this lovely story filled my heart with sunshine’ Jane Linfoot

Imagine yourself in beautiful France with the sun warm on your face and a glass of wine in your hand…Jojo’s French Escape is the perfect summer read!

Trapped in paradise…

For twelve months JoJo Grant has been hiding from a secret too shameful to share.  And whilst her sanctuary might be the beautiful French countryside, JoJo has a horrible feeling that her peace is about to be shattered…because bursting into her life is the hottest celebrity chef around – Callum O’Connor.

Callum knows all about JoJo’s past, her time as a reality star, the scandal that has dogged her, but he isn’t sure why she’s still hiding?  After spending time with Jojo, it’s obvious to him that she has nothing to be ashamed of – she just needs to be a little braver…
But as much as JoJo likes Callum, he thrives on the glare of the outside world.  Can JoJo let go of her past…with Callum by her side?

My review

JoJo Grant escaped a year ago to France after being in a scandal. She found her peace staying with Poppy in a quiet village in rural France. She tries to keep the scandal a secret to everyone. But when celebrity chef Callum O’Connor is coming to stay at the holiday retreat, JoJo is fearful that all her secrets will be out in the open and she has no other place to run too…
And if there is something Callum really despises, it’s reality starts doing everything for their moment of fame.
Staying at the same place, will it be a recipe for disaster? Or will they find some common ground? And will Callum be the one to help JoJo with letting go of her past?

It was SO nice to find myself back in France! I didn’t know how much I missed every character until I read about them all over again!
And getting to know JoJo was like adding the last piece of the puzzle.

JoJo’s story is a sad one… she once thought she loved and was being loved. But then her heart got broken not only by her boyfriend but also by her best friend. And to add more salt in her wounds, something even worse happens.
I felt so sorry for JoJo when I got to know her story, she was treated so wrongfully.
And when Callum appears he just seems like one of so many, judging her without knowing the true story.

I understood why Jojo reacted in the way she did, but I was so hoping for her that the arrival of Callum would mean she could put the past behind her.
Slowly JoJo is opening up again, starting to be her old self again. and thanks to the attraction she has for Callum, she is becoming a trusting person again.
She goes from an introvert, ashamed person to a beautiful, confident woman again. And when moment of doubts dare to appear, she has Callum by her side.

Callum… despite his initial prejudice, he turns out to be just what JoJo needs… He sees her true nature and realizes that there are always 2 versions of a story.
He is patient, understanding and caring. He is a shoulder to cry on, being there when JoJo needs that extra nudge.

I enjoyed this story about finding your confidence back, facing your demons and daring to trust and love again.
And with the right person by your side, you can be your strong, confident self again, without judgement!

When an advert appears in her local paper to work in a publishing house in the sleepy village of Bloomsdale, it sounds too good to be true.

She strikes up an instant friendship with gorgeous aspiring author, Eddie Richards and her dashing millionaire boss Scott Summers

How does the local clairvoyant know her name? Who does the little black dog that keeps appearing belong to and why does she keep bumping into the mysterious Charlie?

As she starts to unravel the truth, it seems that everyone in Bea’s life is keeping secrets.

An uplifting romantic comedy that will warm your heart – perfect for fans of Cathy Bramley, Milly Johnson and Carole Matthews.

My review

Bea Winters wants to follow her dreams and does not want to be bullied anymore at work. So when an advert appears to work in the accounts department of a publishing house in Yorkshire, she takes the chance!
Having the job, she has to find a place to stay. Luckily she can count on Eddie Richards to help her. he is also an aspiring author and he finds the perfect solution for her.
She enjoys her new life and work, especially her new boss is not so bad to look at! Scott Summers is hard not to look at, and Bea finds herself at the center of his attention.

For those who think this is just a paranormal story and not their cup of tea, YOU’RE WRONG!!! I’m not a paranormal fan myself, so I was a bit fearful of it would be too much and not believable.
And I truly enjoyed every bit of this book! The paranormal aspects added a layer of mystery to it, but was not something that was too present.

I found it sweet to read how Bea was trying to find her own happiness. Leaving her job and take a leap of faith of accepting a part-time job without even having a place to stay, takes a lot of courage.
And when she meets Eddie, well, I found myself smiling. Eddie is the kind of friend everyone needs in their lives.
He is there (almost) every time Bea needs a helping hand, and even more. And despite he is a bit younger than Bea, there is more going on.
And then there is Scott… he is gorgeous yes. But from the start I didn’t feel at ease when he was mentioned.
There was something that I didn’t like about him. I couldn’t put my finger on it. Also the way he behaved with Bea was off…

At some moments in the book I wanted that Bea dared to speak more her mind. It caused some awkward situations with both Scott and Eddie, and if she just dared to speak out, a lot of it could have been avoided.

I loved this story as it was more than just a romance. It as a story about being courageous, finding the place where your belong. Meeting new people, some more important than others.
But it was also about belonging. Bea moved a lot during her childhood and was mainly raised by her siblings. And moving to Yorkshire means for Bea finding more than just a new job. She finds a place that feels like home and where she belongs, with even a few surprises.

And what I really liked, was that despite some initial dislikes, the actions of those persons get explained and even if I didn’t agree with them, I understood their reasoning.

A beautiful story with that tiny bit of extra!

‘The Secret Of The Château’ – written by Kathleen McGurl #BookReview @KathMcGurl @rararesources

When the past and present come together.

Synopsis

Everything is about to change…

1789. Pierre and Catherine Aubert, the Comte and Comtesse de Verais, have fled the palace of Versailles for their château, deep in the French Alps. But as revolution spreads through the country, even hidden away the Auberts will not be safe forever. Soon they must make a terrible decision in order to protect themselves, and their children, from harm.

Present day. When Lu’s mother dies leaving her heartbroken, the chance to move to a château in the south of France with her husband and best friends seems an opportunity for a new beginning. But Lu can’t resist digging into their new home’s history, and when she stumbles across the unexplained disappearance of Catherine Aubert, the château begins to reveal its secrets – and a mystery unsolved for centuries is uncovered…

My review

Lu is finding herself a bit lost after her mother’s death. She took care of her mother, giving up her job for it. But now she doesn’t know what to do, as also her children have left the house.
When she gets the opportunity to buy a château with her husband and their best friends, she takes it.

Initially she is not sure and she is also afraid she will feel out of her depth. As she is always intrigued by history, she wants to find the history of the château. And when she is told that it’s haunted and that a woman disappeared in the 18th century, she has to find the truth.

In the 18th century, Pierre and Catherine Aubert were staying at the palace of Versailles. But as the revolution is getting closer, hey see no other option than escaping to Pierre’s château in the French Alps.
But revolution is not only taking place in Paris, but in all French. Is their upper-class as Comte and Comtesse making their situation becoming a dangerous one? And what can they do to protect themselves and their children?

This book is actually 2 stories for the price of one, a real promotion! ☺️
We get to know Lu and her new adventure. After losing her mother, she does not know what to do with her life. After an evening of too much drinking with friends, an idea takes place and the whole bunch are going to buy a place in France, having no real obligations at home.
Lu is reluctant, which makes real sense. Leaving everything behind is not so easy. And moving to a whole other country, is even more difficult. And of course, you can be best friends, but spending the whole time together, wouldn’t it jeopardize their friendship?

Initially she appears to be a very insecure woman. She doubts the made decisions, but she is also afraid to be a party – pooper and spoil the enthusiasm of the rest.  But slowly she finds her way in France, and she finds a purpose. It starts with wanting to figure out the past of the château, to taking care of a dog, and start teaching again. she blossoms to a warm and kind person. We know that she is the caring type, as she took care of her mother, and even if she is too preoccupied about her husband’s health, we know she does it for the right reasons.

Next to Lu her story, we are back in the past, getting to know Catherine and her husband. Initially they are spending time at Versailles. Catherine is a young woman, in awe of Marie – Antoinette. She has never known any better than wealth and is shocked when the ‘normal’ people are turning again their King and Queen. Of course history told us what was going on during that period, but Catherine has no clue. This shows a bit of her naivety, but we must not forget that she is young and simply does not know better.
At the chateau, Catherine has to change her perspective. She grows up, and learns valuable lessons.

But of course the mystery remains. What happened to Catherine and Pierre? And together with Lu we are finding out what happened to the couple.
I sensed where the story would go to and even if Catherine was being rather happy at the chateau, there was this sense of doom.
I wanted that there was a way of turning Catherine’s cards. I felt sympathy for her, but I was also proud of how she managed to change her way of life.
And for Lu I was happy as she was finding her footing in a total strange country.

This story kept me going, wanting to know when Lu’s and Catherine’s worlds would come together. I was eager to know when the secrets would be out and that all characters would find their peace, each at their own way.

A story about changing your home, coping with changes, but having your loved ones near, and finding your peace.

‘Captured By Her Enemy Knight’ – written by Nicole Locke #BookReview @NicoleLockeNews @rararesources

It’s not all just black or white…

Synopsis

Falling for the man

Cressida Howe, the Archer, is a well-tuned weapon. But she’s also a woman captivated by a man—Eldric of Hawskmoor, the warrior knight her father ordered her to kill. Instead, for years, Cressida has simply watched him… Now she’s been captured by her formidable enemy, and her well-ordered world comes crashing down, for Eldric is even more compelling up close. Cressida curses her traitorous heart—this assassin has fallen for her target!

My review

The Archer is a weapon, following orders from her father without question. Nobody knows she’s a woman and she wants to keep it that way. Problem is that now she captivated by Eldric of Hawskmoor. He wants vengeance for the assassination of his friends and wats to bring her to the King for her punishment. Except he never expected to imprison a woman… and certainly he wasn’t expecting that The Archer, Cressida Howe, would be so intriguing!

Again a beautiful story written by Nicole!
This time there is absolutely no question of having a damsel in distress. But totally the opposite! She is a true warrior! She fights harder than any other solder, is strong, knows how to hide so nobody finds her.
But behind the hard armour, we get to know Cressida also as a vulnerable woman. She just wants to be loved and accepted by her father and does everything for him.
She doesn’t only want her father’s love, but when it’s clear she watched Eldric even before he captured her, and there is even a little history between them, I even liked her more!
I respected her strength but I felt sorry for her when it was clear she doesn’t has anybody that loves her…

And Eldric… he wants vengeance but sees more into Cresside than he wants to see. He senses that there is more than meets the eye and that Cressida is not just a ruthless killer.

Their characters are so opposite, they clash more than have something in common. But the more time they spend together, we get to know them for what they truly are.
Both Cressida and Eldric have fears of not being accepted and feel like outcasts.

This book is shows us that there is always more than just one side of a story and that the world is not just good or evil. Sometimes people do things because of a hidden reason. And that a lot of people are just hiding their true selves, being afraid of other people’s reaction.

Together Eldric and Cressida start to face their demons together and they realize they are not so different at all.
I enjoyed this story about 2 strong people, but having fears too.
It’s about strength, opening up, but also about allowing yourself to just be you. Because there is nothing wrong with you!

‘Just Another Silly Love Song’ – written by Rich Amooi #BookReview @RichAmooi @rararesources

When opposites collide/ attract

Synopsis

Two rival radio personalities. Lori Martin is a positive and upbeat DJ, known for playing love songs and dedications. Ben Baxter dishes out no-nonsense, in-your-face relationship advice. Total opposites. Never in a million years would they want to work together.

Fired for losing her cool after her boyfriend breaks up with her on the air, Lori surprisingly receives a job offer for the coveted morning show at the radio station across town where Ben works. She thinks she’s replacing him, but finds out they want to team up Lori with her archenemy to set the air waves on fire and boost ratings. Financially strapped, she can’t turn down the job.

While their on-air fireworks and explosive chemistry make for great listening, what in the world will happen after work hours?

My review

Lori Martin enjoys her job as a radio host. Her night show is all about love songs and dedications for the listeners’ loved ones.

But when during her show she loses her cool after her boyfriend breaks up with her ON THE AIR, she finds herself fired…

Finding a new job on another radio station is not so easy. So when she gets the offer to be the host on a morning show, she is over the moon. Especially that her new job leans that she is going to replace Ben Baxter.

Ben’s show is totally the opposite of Lori’s. He hates love songs, and has no pity for his listeners. He speaks his mind and is not afraid of to suggest to break up a relationship!

But Lori is not replacing Ben at all, she is going to be his co-host! How are they going to be able to work together on a show when their visions are so different?

I looked so forward reading this book, hoping it would as good as I hoped.

But oooh me of little faith! How dared I even have a glimpse of fear? This book brought me so much joy and made me laugh and smile and I just couldn’t put the book away!

It seems a rather simple story. A woman finds herself single and without a job. And when she starts working at her new job, her colleague is just intoreable.

But the author managed to write a story on a higher level, it just was perfect in every way.

Both Lori and Ben are strong characters. They know what they want and won’t allow anyone to make them change direction.

But when obligated to work together, that’s just asking for trouble.

The banter they had, was just hilarious to read. Neither one of them wanted to give the other a win, resulting in a great show, with high ratings.

Spending time together during work, means also they get to know each other better. And they realise that, even if they have a different opinion on some matters, they agree on many too… Even despite the orders from their boss of not dating each other, they keep spending time together after work.

But it’s not just a ‘colleagues fall in love’ story, because the characters go deeper than that. Both Lori and Ben keep challenging each other, pushing each other, ready for the next move. They push each other to be a better version of themselves.

I truly enjoyed every bit of this book, happy with getting to know Lori and Ben better. But also sad, realising that the futher I got in the book, the quicker I would read the end.

I found it a beautiful story, with many laughs, some sad moments. But also being thaught again that there is always more than meets the eye, and that opposites do attract, but only if it’s the right person!

‘Blue Hollow’ – written Cheryl Rees – Price #BookReview @CherylreesPrice @rararesources

When ghosts of the past of a dear one come chasing you…

Synopsis

A child lies in an unmarked grave, another missing without a trace.

Dora’s life is a mess. Her husband has left her for another woman, she can’t pay the bills, and most days she doesn’t bother to get dressed. She feels life couldn’t get any worse, then her oldest friend, Eddie, is murdered. Before Eddie died he told Dora a shocking secret. A secret she wishes she didn’t know. She is not the only one who knows Eddie secret. Someone wants Eddie silenced for good and they are coming after Dora.

As Dora uncovers Eddie’s past she learns of a place called Blue Hollow where an unimaginable crime took place. Now Dora knows the truth of what happened there. Why an innocent man rots in jail. The secret has already taken four lives. She has a choice, bury the past with Eddie or become the next victim of Blue Hollow.

My review

Dora is finding herself a single woman again. her husband left her for another woman, and now she is struggling to pay the bills and find a reason to get properly dressed.
When her friend Eddie is murdered, she is devastated. Also because he just told her a shocking secret. And there are more secrets to be unfolded, with the help of several tapes he has put in different places.

Dora wants to find all the tapes, but soon she discovers that there are other people who would do anything to keep the secret hidden.
Now she is trying to find out the truth of what happened in Blue Hollow without getting murdered herself…

I found this a very creepy story… Dora is struggling after her husband left her and then she finds herself chased by people she doesn’t even knew of!
We are experiencing the story by Dora her ‘adventures’. And as she is trying to find the tapes Eddie left her, we are allowed to listen to those same tapes when Dora hears them for the first time.

This gives us the truth that is just terrible. Slowly we get to know what Eddie and his friends had to endure when they were younger. And we also see that despite the gruesome things they went through, they became real friends and their friendship is still lasting.

Reading about the past, gave me the chills, because imagining that those things really happened and still happen, is something it’s hard to grasp. But unfortunately, the reality shows us that there are terrible people still walking around. And that even this is a fictional story, some of it is just too realistic…

But what I liked about is, is that Dora is becoming more determined to find out what happened so many years ago and is not letting people to get away with it. Initially she finds it hard to believe it all, which is understandable, but when she realizes who is involved and what is still going on, she wants the truth out.
And despite the ugly things happening, I enjoyed reading about the banter Dora has with Dmitri. And also the kindness of those who knew Eddie.
These moment made me smile a little bit, even if the story is not something to smile or laugh about.

Thanks to the people Dora meets during her ‘quest’, she becomes stronger and more resolute. At first she was a little house mouse but slowly she becomes a real fighter. Both literally as figuratively!

This was a real sitting on the edge of my seat story, and the while time I was wondering what happened, what was happening and what would happen in the future! There were several twists I did not see coming and in the end I enjoyed reading it!

‘The Summer Of Falling In Love’ – written by Liz Davies #BookReview @lizdaviesauthor @rararesources

I’m in love…

Synopsis

The thought of having a dog hasn’t crossed Theo Martin’s mind. It’s not that he doesn’t like dogs – he does – but the idea has simply never occurred to him.

It has occurred to his mother though, and when she decides to buy him a puppy because she thinks it will “liven him up a bit”, his life is turned completely upside down and not for the better as far as he’s concerned. But when he discovers that having a cute dog on the end of a lead attracts a great deal of female attention, he soon changes his mind. All kinds of women stop to pet the pup and while they coo over Poppy, they talk to him. A lot. And for Theo, it looks like his love life is taking a very welcome turn for the better.

But what about Josie Wilde, his dog sitter?

Forced to employ someone to walk his dog when he’s in work, he finds himself increasingly attracted to her, but unfortunately Josie’s interest in him appears to be purely professional. As the summer unfolds and he falls head over heels in love with the sweet and vulnerable pup, he finds himself falling for Josie.

For Theo, it’s not so much ‘love me, love my dog’, but more like ‘love my dog, love me, too’. Please…?

My review

Surprised by his parents, Theo Martin finds himself in possession of a dog. He never thought of buying one himself, so he has no clue what to do with “it”.
But his mother is certain it will make his life more interesting.
Theo does not agree as this sweet little puppy, Poppy, is just turning his life upside down!

Soon he sees the perks of taking a cute puppy for a walk, as he suddenly received a lot of female attention.
Despite the attention he now receives, he is relying on a dog sitter for the time he is spending at work, and trying to find a new family for Poppy. Because of course he is not keeping this little puppy!

OH MY GOD I LOVED THIS BOOK SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!
And I fell in love with Poppy! I want her myself!

But back to the story!
I enjoyed reading every bit of it!
Theo is initially out of his depth, as he has no clue how to handle a puppy. He does not know what to feed her, how to train her etc.
And he is still determined to find another family for her.
But when the moment is there, he finally realizes what everybody knew all along… he’s just fallen in love with poppy, like all the readers!
And the lengths he goes for her, ooow just instant swoon!

He wants the best for Poppy, so he hires Josie as a dog sitter. and not only poppy loves Josie, also Theo is falling for her!

This book had me smiling from the start until the very end! It shows you how a dog can change a person’s life for the better.
Thanks to Poppy, Theo starts going out more, meets more women and is having a more active life.  And he even starts to like his job all over again!
He also becomes more protective towards Poppy, showing what a caring man he really is!

I can talk and describe so much more about this amazing book, but it would not be enough to express the joy this story brought me!
If you want to feel true happiness while you’re reading a book, if you want to feel how the love sparks, do not hesitate any further read this book!
And said by me, a real cat person, converted to a Poppy lover, means a lot! 😃
