I started this book on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Even though I should be ashamed, I can proudly annonce that I’ve reached the end on Sunday evening. And yes, the day after!
Starting from the first chapter, I got dragged into the story. An immediate sympathy came for Kate, a young woman who suffered a great tragedy and still carries the consequences of it. Adding that she’s in a relationship with Rob, who got the nickname ‘d*ckhead’ in my mind.
Kate starts her new job in a private investigation firm and thanks with the help of (the in my head again nicknamed ‘oh my God I want him to be real!) Ben, she investigates an individual who may or not be involved with drugs.
So of course I was cheering for Kate and Ben.
The story is well written, it keeps you in suspense from the first until the last chapter.
I never had the thought that any chapter was unnecessary. All the information you received would come back to you as an interesting detail further on in the story.
It has enough drama, action and love in it, so that you go straight from ‘oooh how sweet’ to ‘ooh be careful!’
In summary, it’s a great, well written book and the author has certainly my approval! Can’t wait to read another book from her!
