The true meaning of love and family!

Synopsis

Life is a love song when you find the right notes

Maggie and Ibby make up a happy – if unconventional – family. After meeting at university, they now live in the village of Applecroft on the beautiful West Country coast.

Okay, so Ibby’s gay and prone to disastrous dates, while couples’ counsellor Maggie spends her days helping people with their relationship problems despite having no sex life of her own. Nevertheless, they’re devoted to bringing up teenage daughter Amelia – the result of a drunken one-night stand when they were students – in a stable and loving family.

Until a face from the past – in the form of hard-partying rock star Jordan Nash – disrupts their quiet lives. As Jordan struggles with his personal demons and old secrets are revealed, can Maggie and Ibby stay strong? Or will bringing back the past threaten all that they’ve built in the present?

My review

When I first read the synopsis of this book, it got me a bit confused. It seemed to me a very complicated story to read, but I was intrigued anyway so I gave it a shot.

And I was very surprised once I started. And believe me, it was in a good way.

Maggie and Ibby are one happy family, together with their daughter Amelia.

Jordan Nash is an addicted rock star who decided to go into rehab and get his life back together. And here he writes his latest hit.

Apparantly both stories has nothing to do with each other. But slowly, also through flashbacks, all pieces of the puzzle fit together.

And some of the things you could sense, but others not.

Normally I am a fast reader by nature, but this story got me so hooked that I even gave my night sleep up just for this book. And please do notice, that some things are sacred to me, and sleep is one of them!

This is a story about getting your life back straight, about family and friendship.

Even Jordan who is struggling from his addiction, can lean on his true friends, even if he haven’t been in touch with them over 14 years. That is what real friendship is!

And Maggy, Ibby and Amelia are all 3 of them facing their own personal drama. But still they rely on each other as how a real family should be! And it doesn’t matter if their family isn’t a traditional family, because in the end, if you love each other and take care of each other, it doesn’t matter how your family is made off!

So this is a great love story, but not only a love-love story, but a family love story, a friend love story, and all kinds of love you can think of!
